In Gift 4 the two-inch cube is divided into eight oblong blocks which are 2" x 1" x 1/2".
Gift 4 is a slight variation on Gift 3, where the cube is divide again into 8 pieces, but the rectangular shape opens up many new possibilities. Children will recognize this familiar shape and may view them as dominoes, bricks or tiles. The pieces have a proportion of 1 to 2 to 4 (1/2" by 1" by 2"). Now more modular constructions and designs, and proportion can be discussed as part of the Forms of Knowledge, Beauty and Life. |
