The CDROM contains a 15 minute slideshow presentation with professional voice-over that details the history, philosophy, and methodology of the Gifts. Other features include an interactive guide to each of the gifts, virtual Gifts software (Windows PC only) which simulated Gifts 7-9, and two classic books about the Froebel Kindergarten method (in PDF format so pages can be printed). These books, The Kindergarten Guide vol. 1 by Maria Kraus-Boelte and The Kindergarten Building Gifts by Elizabeth Harrison (founder of the Chicago Kindergarten Training School), were written by the two people responsible for much of the original Froebel teacher training here in the US. A wonderful lecture tool for educators and a great introduction for parents wishing to use these materials with their children. Runs on Win98 through current Vista operating system. Runs under Mac OSX (tested in-house with 10.4.11) and OS9 Classic, although a few software features are not currently available in Mac version. |
