Since 1997 we've offered the most complete selection of Froebel Gifts and Occupation materials in North America. Froebel USA was established in 2000 to provide a resources for those interested in using Froebel's method with children. I first became involved with the Froebel method in early 1997. At that time, my company was asked to manufacture of the Froebel materials for the Frank Lloyd Wright gift shops.

This was just before the publication of Norman Brosterman's brilliant book, Inventing Kindergarten, and Froebel was then mostly known for the connection with Wright. I developed a bas case of "Froebelitis", and the opportunity to get to know Froebel experts like Norman, Barbara Corbett, Finella Scholtz, Helmut Heiland, Jeanne Rubin, (and many others) altered the direction of my life. My three children were all under the age of 5 at that time, and like other parents, I was making important decisions about their education.

It seemed odd that so few people had heard of Froebel's work. I spent much of the first few years researching all forms of early childhood education and amassed a large archive of books, materials and historical periodicals on the Froebel Kindergarten. As I traveled to Europe and Asia, visiting their Froebel centers, I forged relationships with others working to promote Froebel's method.

The mission of Froebel USA is to revive Froebel's original concept of Kindergarten here in the United States and support others worldwide who seek to improve early childhood education. I hope you find what you are looking for in our selection. If not, I please contact me.
